June 8, 2013
There are four age divisions:
10-12 years:(yellow) 2 mile run 10:10 a.m. start
7-9 years: (green) 1 mile run 9:55 a.m. start
5-6 years:(blue) 1/2 mile run 9:45 a.m. start
3-4 years:(red) 1/4 mile run 9:40 a.m. start
Parents have the option of running with their child if they are in the RED division.
Children may run up a division, but not down.
*The run will begin by the Bandshell in Coeurd'Alene City Park and will follow the Centennial Trail along Lake Shore Drive for each age group. Each division will have a separate turn around point. They will all share the same finish line and it will be located on the west side of Fort Sherman Playground. Parking will be limited downtown, so we recommend carpooling.
*Check-in and late registration will be from 9:00-9:30 a.m. on race morning at the new pavillion East of Fort Sherman Playground in the Coeur d'Alene City Park. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. If the cap of 400 participants is met, there will be no late registration available.
*There will be a pre-race meeting at 9:30 a.m. after check-in and late registration closes. This will be finished prior to the first wave of runners.
*Recommended Attire: Long sleeved t-shirt, shorts, socks and running shoes. It can be chilly by the lake so a sweatshirt or jacket is also sometimes needed. Each division is a different color. Children must have the color card of thier division pinned to the front of their shirt (this will be given out at check-in) and their bodies marked with their age (also, done at check-in).
*Children must be on the starting line 3 min. prior to their wave start. The yellow, green, and blue divisions will have different turn around points that will be marked and will have volunteers to guide them. The yellow and green divisions will also have a water station along their routes.
*We will not award technical winners. This is not a timed event. Each child will receive a medal and a sponsor goodie bag upon participation. (Sponsor goodie bags are not guaranteed for late registrants.) Water will also be provided at the finish line and at a water station for the 1 and 2 mile runs.
